On my recent trip to Europe I challenged myself to only take products that didn’t need any brushes in order to save space. I knew I wouldn’t be wearing makeup very often, and I ended up wearing makeup only a handful of times. So I thought I would share with you the products I took and whether they were effective. Hopefully this can be helpful to anyone traveling who don’t want to take any brushes with them.
For my base I took my BareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream SPF30 in 02 Vanilla. This is a really nice base product, hydrating and light. Word of warning, don’t apply too much otherwise it can look a bit cakey and unnatural. But with the right amount and lots of blending with your fingers it provides a really nice, natural base with medium coverage. I decided to take this product because it had SPF and I think, actually looks better when applied with fingers than with a brush.
For my blush I took the Body Shop Fresh Sorbet Blush in Florida Sunstar 010. This product smells so nice. It is quite a vibrant fluro colour in the pot, but blends out to create a great pop of colour. I thought a cream/gel blush would be best to be applied with fingers. My only complaint about this particular product is it has a bit of shimmer in it and can be quite visible around the edges of where you put the blush. But with the right amount and blending it is a nice product. I also chose this because it worked well with the lipstick I took.
Mascara was an easy choice. I took my Maybelline Full’N’Soft Waterproof Mascara. This was a pre-cruelty free purchase, so I’m just trying to finish it off. But going to Europe in the Summer it was essential to take a waterproof formula.
Finally, the lipstick I took was Tarte Amazonian Butter Lipstick in Coral Blossom. I love the formula of these lipsticks, creamy and beautiful colours. I thought this colour would be perfect for summer in Europe as it would provide a bright pop of coral.
The only products I forgot to picture were my concealers. I took my First Aid Beauty Triple Eye Remedy and Bourjoius Healthy Mix Concealer. So that’s it for this post. I hope you liked it and find it useful. Let me know your favourite makeup products to travel with in the comments.
Thanks so much for reading, Christina xo
