Real Techniques is a cruelty free makeup brush brand by Pixiwoo (two makeup artist sisters, Nic and Sam) launching in 2011. Their brushes are really high quality and affordable. I personally have six of their brushes, four of which I use on a daily basis.
The brushes never shed, even after multiple washes. I have some from their traditional line with the orange handle, black bristles with white on top. Having the tips of the brushes white really help when cleaning the brushes as you can tell when the products come out and they are clean. Such a simple but really helpful thing. They clean up well and keep their shape after washing.
There is a huge range now of their brushes from traditional kabuki brushes and fan highlighter brushes to makeup sponges. Their Expert Face Brush is one of my favourites that I use every time I put on liquid foundation. It is a flat top brush that blends foundation in perfectly. It costs around 20AUD. Their Miracle Complexion Sponge has rivalled the infamous Beauty Blender and costs a fraction of the price at around 12AUD. They do some awesome brush sets with fun and different styles ranging from 20AUD up to 60AUD.
In Australia Real Techniques brushes can be found online or in store at Priceline. Prices are cheaper on the Real Techniques site, however make sure to check shipping rates in case it adds up. In addition on the Real Techniques site are mini video tutorials on how to use each individual brush, which as a beginner, is awesome! (below are Sam and Nic Chapman, of Pixiwoo, the creators of Real Techniques whose YouTube channel Pixiwoo has additional videos on how to use their brushes and incorporating them into makeup tutorials).
I would highly recommend this makeup brush brand for high quality, affordable brushes. Have you tried any Real Techniques brushes? What is your favourite? Let me know in the comments below.
