Hello! Welcome to my first post of Affordable April – a whole month (two posts a week) of cruelty free affordable beauty content. Of course, to start the month off is a cruelty free budget beauty haul. I went shopping at Priceline during their 40% off sale a few weeks ago and bought a few items. The sale was perfect timing to buy a few things I had my eye on and a few things to fill out my affordable beauty collection (I didn’t have any affordable highlighters and only one base product). So here is what I got.
Australis Match Maker Shade Adjusting Drops Lightening: I have seen a few of these white pigment drops that you add to darker foundations to get a perfect match and am intrigued. As a pale girl I struggle sometimes to find base products light enough for my skin tone so am excited to see how this works!
Nude by Nature Sheer Glow BB Cream in 01 Porcelain: I had only one base product in my affordable beauty collection which is rather full coverage, so I bought this product in the hope of finding a great lighter base product that was affordable and could be used on a regular basis.
Nude by Nature Highlight Stick in 01 Champagne: I also didn’t have any highlighters in my affordable beauty collection and thought this would be a nice edition. It is a cream stick highlight in a gorgeous light champagne colour.
NYX Retractable Lip Liner in Nude/Diaphane: I don’t normally wear lip liner, but I sometimes want to when I am wearing a lipstick that I want to last a long time. I thought a nude would be a good shade to start with.
Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips in Warm Nude: This product has been quite hyped up on YouTube, and considering I was on the hunt for an affordable highlight I thought it would be perfect! It has some darker shimmer shades in the product which I think I would only use for eyeshadow or bronzer, but the lighter shades look beautiful.
Models Prefer Argan Infusion Liquid Concealer in Light: Having bought this home and swatched it, I think this concealer might be a bit dark for me. Unfortunately this is often the case that concealers are never light enough for me! Maybe if I add some of the shade adjusting drops it would work…
Essence Matt Matt Matt Lipstick in 02 Perfect Match: I have heard good things about the brand Essence and how underrated they are. I have already tried this lipstick and I must admit it is awesome. It is matte, as the name suggests, is a beautiful colour, lasts a pretty long time and then fades really nicely. Such a great find!
NYX BB Cream in 01 Nude: I ended up buying two lighter base products just to test them out. I have high hopes for this product as NYX is a great brand and the product claims to ‘hydrate, prime and perfect’. What more could I ask for.
Have you tried any of these items? What do you think of them? Let me know in the comments below, or if you bought anything in the 40% off sale at Priceline.
Thanks so much for reading, and be sure to check back (or subscribe) for more affordable beauty content during April, Christina xo
