Date Night Cruelty Free Makeup

For me, date night makeup should be food friendly and a little bit shimmery.

Base:

For foundation I used the Koh Gen Do Moisture Foundation in 012 which is a great fuss free base that gives medium coverage. I applied this using a buffing brush. I then covered some redness and under eye circles with the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in 01 Fair. This is my favourite all over concealer. It is creamy with great coverage. I set under my eyes with the Bourjois Healthy Balance powder in 52 Vanilla. This is a great powder, but I believe is not cruelty free. I then went in with my highlighter. I used a cream highlighter from the Body Shop called the Radiant Highlighter. I really like this highlight as it gives a subtle pink toned sheen.

Colour:

To add some colour to my cheeks I went in with my favourite ever palette from Tarte. I used their Colourwheel Blush palette. I combined Concept and Icon to get a nice mauve/nude blush colour. For my eyes I used my Makeup Geek Z Palette I made myself. I used Crème Brulee (middle left) in the crease, swiping the excess over the lid. This is a perfect warm brown crease shade. I then used Rapunzel (top left) as my inner corner highlight. For a pop of shimmer I put Glamorous all over the lid (bottom left). To deepen the look I used a combination of Bitten (middle right) and Cocoa Bear (middle middle) in the outer corner, dragging the excess into the crease.

Finishers:

To finish the eyes I used my Australis Voluptulash mascara. This is a great lengthening mascara, but I think it is on its last legs. For my eyebrows I used the Essence Make Me Brow gel to add some more colour and brush my eyebrows into place. This gel has little fibres in it which helps bulk up the front and tail of my brows. Finally, for lips I used the Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Dolce Vita. This is a great colour, my lips but better, perfect for eating as it fades naturally. Although this is a matte finish, it feels creamy on the lips and is so comfortable to wear.

So that’s how I did my makeup recently for a date night. What are your favourite products to wear on date night? Do you like to keep it natural or go all out? Let me know in the comments below.
